Every other June
...mom deer brings two tiny fawns to the front yard. And chases the older kids away. They don't go far.
Later mama bear might stroll through the field below with her new cubs. Or big papa might stoop for a drink from the front yard pond.
Deer, raccoons, hawks and herons are pretty much every day visitors. Bears, eagles and coyotes are now and then. Elk, sometimes . The annual bird parade is endless -- first the doves, then finches, western tanagers, cedar waxwings, 30 hummingbirds at the feeders in July, thousands of ducks and geese in the fall.
